ABN TIDAK TAKUT HUJAN

KUALA LUMPUR : Asia Broadcasting Network (ABN), televisyen kabel digital yang akan menawarkan 500 saluran untuk pelanggan dilancarkan malam tadi oleh Menteri KPKK, Dato Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim.

ABN, milik Nilamas Corporation, dijangka menjadi saingan kepada ASTRO kerana pelbagai kelebihan yang dinyatakan termasuk kadar bayaran yang rendah dan tiada gangguan ketika hujan seperti yang dialami oleh pelanggan ASTRO sekarang.

Pelanggan yang ingin mendapatkan perkhidmatan ABN perlu membeli setup box untuk membolehkan siaran disalurkan menerusi kabel ke rumah mereka. Perkhidmatan seperti ini yang pernah ditawarkan oleh anak syarikat TV3 iaitu Mega TV akan menarik pelanggan jika mereka menawarkan isi kandungan menarik.

Untuk itu, CEO ABN, Sreedhar Subramaniam, berkata pihaknya bukan saja membeli program daripada pihak luar tetapi juga menerbitkannya menerusi pasukan penerbitan yang profesional. ABN juga akan mempunyai akademi untuk melatih tenaga kerjanya.

Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd Nor
TS Mohd Anwar made history in April 2005 when he became the first naval chief in the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) to ascend to its highest military office – the Chief of Defence Force, commanding a strength of nearly 100,000.

With nearly 40 years of military experience with the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and MAF, TS Anwar has acquired a massive portfolio of achievements and has been entrusted with many high-profile appointments aboard ships and ashore, including Fleet Operations Commander of the RMN Fleet in Lumut Naval Base in 1999 and Assistant Chief of Staff of the Personnel Services Division in MAF HQ in 2000.

He holds a Master of Science Degree in Engineering Business Management from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom as well.

TS Anwar has also received distinguished medals from foreign governments such as the Ordre National De La Legion D’Honneur from France and the Command of the Legion of Merit from the US.

Tan Sri Mohamad Noor Abdul Rahim
TS Mohamad Noor, holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree from University of Malaya. He has held various senior positions in the government sector which includes Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs & Secretary General of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs.

Currently he sits on the board of companies such as Mitrajaya Holdings Berhad & Nasioncom Holdings Berhad. He is also the Chairman of JKP Sdn Bhd, a company wholly owned by Ministry of Finance (Incorporated).

Dato Nik Mohd Amin Nik Abu Bakar
Dato’ Nik Mohd Amin, graduated with a Bachelor of Art (Hons) degree from University of Malaya, a Master of Arts and a Doctorate of Philosophy from Century University, California. He has held various positions in the government sector.

He was the Director General of the Social Security Organisation, Secretary General of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment and Secretary General of the Ministry of Human Resources. He has been a member of various international organisations, which includes International Social Securities Organisation (ISSA) Geneva, National Science Committee for UNESCO and ASEAN committee on Science and Technology.)
